The COMEN VN8 (also offered in VN8SHFO and VN8HFO configurations) is part of COMEN's VN-series neonatal/pediatric ventilators, designed for neonates, premature infants, and pediatric patients with birth weight of 200 g or more. The platform provides full-cycle precision ventilation protection from lung recruitment preparation through ventilator-weaning assessment, with 17 ventilation modes covering conventional pressure/volume control, high-frequency oscillation (HFO, PC-HFO), and non-invasive high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy. It supports HFOV-VG (volume-guarantee high-frequency oscillatory ventilation) capable of delivering tidal volumes as low as 0.1 mL, four trigger modes (flow, volume, pressure, abdominal) to match infant spontaneous breathing, automatic leak compensation (up to 45 L/min maximum compensation flow in pediatric mode), cuff-pressure management via COMEN's IntelliCuff patent, tube resistance compensation (TRC), multi-level pressure monitoring during HFO modes, and apnea/sensor backup ventilation. It includes weaning-assessment and FRC measurement tools, and ships with breathing circuits, humidification chambers, abdominal and flow sensors, and patient interfaces (nasal prongs, masks, headgear).
